Statistical errors in medical research can kill many!!

Statistical errors in medical research can cause a large number of deaths and can harm a large number of people when inadequately proven results are used on millions of patients. This is accentuated when future research is built on the existing unsubstantiated results. But no eyebrows are raised. With the wide availability of statistical software, anybody and everybody thinks of himself or herself as a statistical expert and do the analysis. No special training is required. Can we do anything to stop the abuse and misuse of statistical methods in medical research?
